Dr. Sujata Sunjay (Born on 8th July, 1980) from Uttarakhand, India achieved the record “Indian Gynecologist Doctor who took a Challenge of Delivering a Baby in a Post-Renal Transplant Patient”. She did successful pregnancy delivery after kidney transplantation. The major risks for mothers during pregnancy delivery include hypertension, infections and risk of preeclampsia, which is characterized by high blood pressure proteinuria and worsening kidney function. Prematurity and low birthweight are the two main risks to the new-born. The pregnancy was terminated in the 38th week by an urgent Caesarean section due to the fetal bradycardia. The patient has given birth to the healthy baby girl. The delivery took place at Sanjay Orthopaedic, Sipne & Maternity Centre, Jakhan, Dehradun on 26th November, 2012.
