Largest Kite Flown by Individual
Dr. S. Ramesh Babu (born on 12th February, 1957) from Karnataka, India is credited for having flown the Largest Kite single handedly, without using any flying aids, at Muthyalanagar, Bangalore, on 2 March, 1996. The 15 feet x 15 feet square shaped kite weighing 3.262 Kg was made of thin plastic sheet using aluminum, chrome plated steel and PVC pipe ribs. The kite together with the 15 feet x 1.33 ft thin plastic tail had a surface area of 245 Sq. ft., and was flown without any body’s assistance using a 52.38 meter long nylon rope of 4 mm diameter.
