Travancore Cocotuft (P) Ltd factory has made the Longest Hand Woven Coir Doormat. The doormat was made through an idea of Mahadevan Pavithran. The Longest Hand Woven Coir Doormat has 101.6 meters (333.3ft) length, 1.2 meters (4ft) width, 30 mm thickness and 999 kg weight. This was the outcome of a four-month effort by four workers consuming 4, 70,000 coir tufts, inserted between alternate wefts of coir yarn. The total cost of this Doormat is over Rs. 4, 00,000/-.
